Parsons & Wright has four Certified Public Accountants and seven staff members. Three of our staff focuses primarily on client write-up and three primarily on tax and audit assignments. Our receptionist works as an administrative assistant in all areas of the practice. During tax season we have two additional staff to assist in tax return processing, filing, etc. Our firm prepares individual, corporate, partnership, estate and trust, and tax exempt organizations 990 tax returns. We also perform annual audits in the commercial, non-profit, and governmental arenas. In addition, we prepare numerous financial statements such as compilations, reviews, financial statements for contractors, etc.
JOE SAVAGE, CPA (MANAGING PARTNER)
Joe Savage is a Certified Public Accountant that graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 1983. Joe is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants and is currently serving on the Tennessee Society of CPAs Peer Review Committee. Joe has over 22 years experience in serving various types of tax, small business, and audit clients.
STEVE PARSONS, CPA
Steve Parsons is a Certified Public Accountant that started practicing in Roane County in 1973. Steve has a MBA from the University of Tennessee and is a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Steve has a wide range of experience in tax and financial planning, tax return preparation, and accounting and management services for a diverse group of clients.
MARIE NIEKERK, CPA
Marie Niekerk joined Parsons & Wright in August 2004. Marie has a MBA from the University of Tennessee and is a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Marie has over 20 years experience in accounting, auditing, and tax services. She brings with her, experience in public accounting as well as the healthcare and banking industries.
CATHERINE HULME, CPA
Catherine Hulme joined Parsons & Wright in November 2006. Catherine has a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Nevada and is a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. Catherine has over 16 years experience in accounting, auditing, and tax services. She also has experience in the Utility and Private Investment industries.
EARL WRIGHT, CPA (RETIRED)
Earl Wright is a Certified Public Accountant that graduated from Kent State University in 1956. Earl is a former member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. Earl has over 45 years experience in serving various types of tax and small business clients.
PATTY GUGE
Patty Guge joined Parsons & Wright in 1980. Patty has over 29 years experience in client write-up and tax return preparation. She has worked with many different types of software such as QuickBooks, Peachtree, and One Write Plus. She helps clients with the conversion and training of these software accounting systems. Patty provides clients with assistance in client write-up, making adjusting journal entries, payroll tax preparation, sales tax preparation, personal property tax returns, business license tax returns, W-2s, and 1099s.
BRENDA ROSE
Brenda Rose joined Parsons & Wright in June 1989. Brenda has an Associates Degree in Accounting Technology from Roane State Community College. Brenda has over 26 years experience in client write-up, payroll tax preparation, and QuickBooks consulting. Brenda provides clients with assistance in the conversion and training of software accounting systems. She provides clients with assistance in client write-up, payroll tax preparation, making adjusting journal entries, sales tax preparation, personal property tax returns, business license tax returns, W-2s, and 1099s. Brenda also maintains the computer system and software for the firm.
REBECCA MCCLURKAN “BECKY” (SEMI-RETIRED)
Becky McClurkan joined Parsons & Wright in January 1993. Becky has an Associates Degree in Accounting Technology from Roane State Community College. Becky has over 12 years experience in accounting, tax return preparation, and auditing. Becky is a graduate of Leadership Roane County where she is past president of the Leadership Roane County Alumni Board and she is a charter member and was the first president of Roane County Association of Women Executives. Becky has experience in the government, banking, and insurance industries.
GERALD MOORE
Gerald Moore joined Parsons & Wright in December 1997. Gerald has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Tennessee Technological University. Gerald has over 24 years experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Gerald provides client assistance with client write-up, payroll tax preparation, making adjusting journal entries, sales tax preparation, personal property tax returns, business license tax returns, W-2’s and 1099’s. Gerald has experience in building and trades, construction, and apparel manufacturing.
SHERRY HEIDLE
Sherry Heidle joined Parsons & Wright in June 1999. Sherry has a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Tennessee Technological University. Sherry has over 12 years experience in accounting, auditing, and tax preparation. Sherry is a member of the Roane County Association of Women Executives and holds a Tennessee Real Estate license.
ROBYN LANGLEY
Robyn Langley worked with Parsons & Wright for three months during tax season while attending Tennessee Wesleyan College. She graduated in May 2006 with a Bachelors Degree in Business majoring in Accounting, at which time she joined the firm full time as an auditor and tax preparer.

Rebecca Hutsell joined Parsons & Wright in January 2008. Rebecca has a MBA from the University of Phoenix. She has over 8 years experience in accounting, auditing, and tax services.
TABITHA RIGGS
Tabitha Riggs joined Parsons & Wright in June 2005 as Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. Tabitha has six years of experience as an Administrative Assistant. She is normally the first voice you hear when you call Parsons & Wright. She is responsible for scheduling appointments, distributing client information, processing financial statements, and many other tasks.
